I can see the Eiffel Tower from my hotel. My happiness is flying out the window. It can’t be contained in the room. I have dreamed of coming here my whole entire life. I grew up with the Eiffel tower in my school text books as I was in French Immersion my whole life. I caught the Eurostar train at 11am and arrived just after 2pm. I mostly napped on it, went by pretty quick. As we were arriving into the city on another train, I was writing journal entries on my phone and my friend said “Look behind you.” I turned to see out the window, jumped out of my seat in excitement and said “The CN Tower!!! I mean…The Eiffel…Tower…” So Canadian of me. For the rest of the day I was stoked on life. After checking into a cute little hotel called Kennedy Eiffel, we went for a walk and the first thing I wanted was a croissant and hot chocolate. Then we proceeded to the best view of the famous structure. Couldn’t believe it, my dream had come true! I finally made it to Paris, after 29 years of living on the planet. I want to make the last year of my 20’s the most epic and I’d say I’m off to a pretty good start!

After walking around we grabbed dinner at a Cafe. I had a mojito, French onion soup and pesto penne, it was delicious! Walking by the Eiffel tower again, I thought “I need to call my Mom!” I called her via Facebook and there was no answer. Then my phone rang – it was her! She asked how I was doing then I showed her where I was. “What?!” “Haha! Mom! I’m in Paris!! I finally can speak French!” She was stoked. I love my Mom. So much.
Paris is so magical. The streets are incredible, I love all the balconies with flower beds. I even walked into a flower shop tonight and smelt all the roses, completely in Heaven. I instantly felt at home while walking on the streets, could live here for sure and most likely will. One day, soon. I honestly feel like I got reawakened in Paris. I’m so happy. 🙂
I’m so grateful to be here. To be blogging from my hotel room, listening to good music, watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle from my window. What a blessing. This year is already amazing and its only January. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey of doing what I love and letting my heart guide the way. So far, its doing a pretty good job. I love traveling. Well time for bed. Goodnight.
